Vietnam, Cuba forge bilateral relationship

21/03/2008 -- 7:04 PM Hanoi (VNA) – A senior Cuban Party official says the Cuban Party, State and people will forever stand side-by-side with the Vietnamese people and do their utmost to take friendly, cooperative relations between the two countries to new heights. Director of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee (CPCCC)'s Commission for External Affairs, Fernando Remiret, made the pledge at a meeting with Politburo member and standing member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee (CPVCC), Truong Tan Sang, at a reception in Ha Noi on March 21. The Cuban Party official said Vietnam's past struggles for national liberation and its present national construction and development is a vivid symbol and example for other nations to follow. Politburo member Sang said the Vietnam admired the efforts of the Cuban people under the CPCCC's leadership to fight against biased embargos. He said the Vietnamese Party, State and people were determined to foster and enhance the bilateral traditional friendship and cooperation. Earlier, the visiting Cuban Party delegation held talks with the Vietnamese Party delegation, led by Director of the CPVCC's Commission for External Affairs, Tran Van Hang. Both sides exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern and discussed measures to further promote bilateral ties and cooperate in multi-lateral forums. During their stay in Viet Nam , the Cuban Party delegation will pay a working visit to northern Hai Phong port city.-Enditem
